Mark Pierce is Broadwing Aviation’s resident military expert, which goes a long way when your business model is built on finely tuned processes and procedures. A retired Gunnery Sergeant from the U.S. Marine Corps, he has been called by one of his USMC peers “easily one of the best leaders I ever had the privilege of working under. Mark led our squadron with effective communication and exceptional organization of priority mission objectives.”
With that deep experience, and 25 years in facility and aircraft maintenance, Mark is taking Broadwing Aviation’s operations to the next level. “During my assignment to Commander Naval Air Forces Aviation Maintenance Management Team, I learned that teaching is a large part of evaluating,” says Mark. “Helping others understand the reason processes are in place helps in their overall compliance to those processes.” This helps him as he works with team members to hone their skills on items ranging from procurement and shipping, to handling aircraft parts and how it affects the end item on the flight line.
Perfectly summing up his role, Mark explains: “A typical day for me begins with gathering the Operations team and going over the plan for the day, where we re-emphasize quality in the workplace and customer satisfaction.”
