Complementing his role as COO, Mark Anderson also considers himself chief problem solver. “In this industry, every day brings different challenges,” he says. “You have to be analytically minded to tackle technical data and research, and constantly improve processes.”
At the core of Mark and the Broadwing Aviation partners’ desire to start an aftermarket distribution company is exemplary service, hard work and getting it right the first time for clients. “We aren’t here to sell airplane parts,” he explains. “We’re here to provide a service to our customers and meet their needs in the most efficient way possible.”
Working since he was 10 years old, Mark calls it a way of life. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, he moved to Aspen, Colorado and later found himself back in Texas where he worked in various sales roles. Mark’s career in aviation started in 1997 in sales and operations where he started to cultivate his industry knowledge and develop relationships with strategic partners. This industry-specific knowledge paired with the partners’ determination to provide a higher level of customer service with added efficiency evolved into starting Broadwing Aviation in 2001.
Finding synergies and efficiencies in the aftermarket industry keeps Mark focused. “The after-market business is very dynamic, and what sets you apart from other companies is how you tackle these challenges,” he says.
